Watonwan County

Watonwan County joined the Affiliate in 2009.  The Watonwan County Partnering Community has completed six homes. The seventh home is expected to begin construction the spring of 2012. Renee and her four young children will be the Partner Family. Renee is excited for her family to have their own home and leave behind a substandard rental home that had rodents, lead paint, leaky windows and cracks in the wall.

The Partnering Community committee meets the 2nd Monday of each month at the St. James Public Library at 5:15 pm. All those interested in learning more about Habitat are invited to join.

The Affiliate is currently looking for parcels of land to build on in St. James. If you know of any affordable land, please contact the office at (507) 388-2081.

Fall Fashion Show: Lip Stick Jungle

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the fall 2011 event, "Lipstick Jungle" a smashing success! The event was held on September 7th at the St. James Golf Club. The event rose over $4,000 to support the spring construction of the St. James home.
