Julie: For over 15 years, Julie has been the Executive Director of HFHSCMN. Being blessed with a wonderful team of hard-working employees, this Executive Director is proud of the many accomplishments of the South Central MN affiliate.
"The most recent and exciting moment has been obtaining our 13-lot sub-division utilizing the TIF funds," said Schmillen.
Schmillen's goals for this upcoming year is to implement our new operational plan working closely with the partnering communities in a successful manner for the continued growth and overall success of our affiliate.
Carol: In her sixth year at Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota Carol enjoys assisting future homeowners. Carol has been with HFHSCMN for approximately five years. Her official title is: Office Manager/ Bookkeeper.
"It's not about me, it's about Habitat and the mission we serve. I'm just a little piece of the puzzle" said Raymond. Carol is proud of the accomplishment of the restructuring process that took place for South Central MN. Raymond's goals for next year include working with staff to ensure the mission of Habitat is properly expressed through the communities served in South Central Minnesota.
Fred Snyder: Fred Snyder, the ReStore’s General Manager loves being in the business of helping others. Fred has been with the ReStore since the building was completed and he has voiced that his proudest moment this year has been the tremendous growth in each measurable category.
“That’s exciting because we’ve begun to make some serious contributions to the Habitat for Humanity mission to eliminate poverty housing.”-Snyder
The goals for the ReStore for the 2011-2012 fiscal year is to continue to grow and contribute to Habitat for Humanity’s mission.
Ben: Going into his seventh year with Habitat, Ben enjoys working with volunteers at the job site. Working everyday pounding nail after nail, and building walls, Schmillen's greatest accomplishments this year include the recertification of LEED and green building certificates as long as the grants received for the organization. The grants are essential in going towards the creation of the homes. Schmillen's goals for the future are to continue the efforts that were given this year through the various volunteers on the completion of the homes, grants received to sustain the building costs and the recertification for building.
Nicole: Mankato native, Nicole, was hired as the Resource Development Manager in 2010. Her proudest moment of this year was the increase in number of fundraising events and the increase in amount received from those fundraising efforts. Next year she plans on continuously building the home sponsorship program in which businesses from the communities donate funds towards the completion of a Habitat home. She also plans on coordinating to increase planned giving donations in which members of the community generously state an amount to be given to Habitat in the future.
Kelli: Fresh out of graduate school with a degree in communication studies, Kelli Hanson became South Central Minnesota’s new volunteer coordinator in November. Her proudest moment with working for Habitat thus far has been the implementing of community resources into the homeowner curriculum which she plans to continue to build within the next fiscal year. Along with ensuring a successful first time home ownership Kelli is working towards increasing volunteers, which are vital to Habitats success.
"I am honored to have the mission of eliminating poverty housing be my job," said Kelli.
Fred Miller: As the Assistant Manager, Miller has been with the ReStore for about 18 months. He loves interacting with the public and helping people. Fred sees the continued growth of the ReStore as a great success and is pleased to know we’re making a difference.
Fred supervises crews three days a week. Miller is a huge asset to the ReStore team as he is in charge of receiving donations and salvage operations as well as stocking and displaying merchandise on the sales floor.
"We work hard to make our customers feel welcome and it is nice to see it all pay off," said Miller. When asked if customers planned on returning to shop at the ReStore, 100% said "yes".
